How our journey began
CATTLEytics: Built for Farmers. Backed by Data. Driven by Purpose.
CATTLEytics began in a barn, not a boardroom. Founded in 2014 by Dr. Shari Van De Pol—a rare blend of computer engineer and large animal vet—our mission has always been clear: help farmers do more with what they already have, and do it better.
With sixteen people and a whole lot of grit, we’ve built something powerful. Our technology helps dairy farmers reduce antibiotic use, improve feed efficiency, make proactive health decisions, and unlock profits—without needing more quota or more land.
We’re proud to be a Canadian ag-tech company creating real change, right from the parlour floor. When economics become tough and sustainability pressure mounts, our tools give farmers the upper hand—combining digital twins, custom analytics, and barn-ready hardware that speaks the language of agriculture.
Our story is already being noticed. We’ve been named a Coralus (SheEO) venture, selected as a top-five finalist for the UN SDG Awards, and in 2023, our founder was named Entrepreneur of the Year by Women in Communications & Technology. In 2024, we took home the Tech for Good Award, won the Spark III Pitch Contest, won the She Loves Tech North America finals and gained the Farmer’s Choice Award and Innovation Award by Canada’s Outdoor Farm show,. We’ve filmed with Dragon’s Den, and pitched in the illustrious Odlum Brown Forum finals.
But this isn’t just about us. It’s about working shoulder to shoulder with farmers. They’re not just our customers—they’re our co-creators. Every shift scheduler, every health model, every line of code—we built it with them, for them.
At CATTLEytics, we believe in farming smarter, in building tools that make sense for real people in real barns, and in protecting the legacy of Canadian agriculture—one data-driven decision at a time.
